d00ch Baby Showers April 08, 2019 18:18:36
Theres no sweeter celebration of friendship than a baby shower. Whether the guest of honor is expecting her first, second, or even third child, a shower is a wonderful way for friends to express their joy before the baby is born. Recently, the women of Big Production, a New York City-based publicity firm, gathered for a luncheon in honor of their companys expectant co-founder, Cindy Krupp.
Consider your crowd when it comes to planning guest activities and incorporate games that involve both partners—and that both male and female attendees will want to play. Kertzner had guests at the co-ed shower she planned face off in "Baby Bottle Chug." To play, give each guest a baby bottle filled with milk, juice, water, soda, or beer, which they try to drink as quickly as possible. Whoever finishes first is declared the winner.
Babys bed and bath shower. A great way to provide the basics every new parent needs: layette items, an infant tub, linens, changing-table gear, and more.
Picture-perfect shower. A nice theme for second-time parents or those who have the basic gear. Friends can pool their resources to purchase a digital camera or camcorder plus albums, frames, and other photo-related gifts.
Tradition states that a shower should not be hosted by a close family member of the parents-to-be, but instead by a friend or more distant relative, such as a cousin or an aunt. This rule was meant to avoid the appearance that the family was simply on a mission to collect gifts. However, like many traditions, this rule isnt strictly observed these days. In fact, its usually considered perfectly acceptable for a sister, mother-in-law, or even the guest of honors mother to host or co-host a shower. Its still unusual for a mother-to-be to host her own shower, though.
Couples buffet dinner. An evening party for both parents-to-be and their friends. Unisex gifts might include diaper bags for both Mom and Dad, coupons for future babysitting, and gear such as a carrier and baby monitor.
